Next Screening 10/21/18

Updated: Feb 13, 2019

CVHC will have a dental and vision screening on 10/21/18 at 1 pm. The screening will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church (228 Dennison Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211).

Eligible: We serve residents of Jefferson and Shelby Counties without medical insurance who have a low household income. Those who qualify for unemployment, Medicaid, or disability are eligible.

Intake: The screening is offered on a first come/first serve basis. You will receive a number at sign-in. Only the hosting church can hold designated spots for the outreach ministry of the church. The maximum number seen at any screening is 65.

Cost: The screening is absolutely free. The cost is your time and patience. Please plan to spend most of the afternoon with us. Everyone will be seen by our generous group of volunteer professionals.

Follow-up: Dental appointments needed for treatment will be made at check-out with Cahaba Valley Health Care or other cooperating clinics. All services provided by Cahaba Valley Health Care are at no charge with donations gladly accepted.

Eyeglasses: If you need eyeglasses, we will assist you in ordering glasses. The cost is $60 for single vision and $75 for bi-focals. Interest free payments are allowed. When your glasses are paid for in full, the prescription will be filled. Other low-cost programs are available to you if purchasing glasses is deemed a hardship.
